Quick Survey to Help Improve Groundwater Planning in Texas

Do you own a groundwater well that is not metered? If so, you can help improve groundwater planning across Texas by completing a short, anonymous survey conducted by the Bureau of Economic Geology at The University of Texas at Austin.

The survey is designed to better understand groundwater use from wells that are not metered. This information will help improve groundwater use estimates and support future water planning efforts throughout the state.

The survey should only be completed for wells that are not subject to metering or otherwise report pumping information to a state entity. If you have multiple qualifying wells that serve different purposes, such as a domestic well and a livestock well, please complete one survey for each well.

All responses are anonymous, will be grouped only at the county level, and will not affect the permitting, metering, or regulatory status of your well.

If you have a few minutes to spare, we encourage you to participate and help strengthen groundwater planning for Texas.
