Know Your Well: Finding Your State Well Report

One of the most valuable records a well owner can have is their State Well Report. If your well was drilled after 2003, there is a good chance a report exists in the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's online database.
A State Well Report can provide important information about your well, including total depth, casing details, pump information, water levels measured at the time of drilling, and the geologic formations encountered during construction. This information can be extremely useful when troubleshooting well issues, planning maintenance, or simply learning more about your water supply.
To locate your report, visit the State Well Report Database at https://bit.ly/4g0NvBV and search for the address associated with your well. The search will bring you to a map showing wells in the area. Navigate to your well location and click on the orange dot representing your well. Next, click on the Well Report Tracking Number.
The next screen may appear mostly blank, but you should see a "View Report" button in the upper left corner. Selecting this option will open your well's State Well Report. If you would like to save a copy, click the printer icon. A print settings window will appear. After selecting your desired settings, click the Print button. A second window will then appear with a link labeled "Click here to view the PDF of your report." Selecting this link will open a PDF version of the report that can be saved to your computer or printed for your records.
We recommend saving a digital copy and keeping a printed copy in your well binder. Having quick access to your State Well Report can save time and provide valuable information when questions arise about your well.
