Texas 4-H Water Ambassador Program Applications Open

Applications are now open for the Texas 4-H Water Ambassador Program (4-H2O), a statewide leadership program designed to equip the next generation of water leaders with knowledge, experience, and professional connections in the water industry.
The program is open to students currently in 8th through 11th grade for the 2026–2027 academic year. Students do not have to be current 4-H members to apply, but must join a local chapter if accepted. Participants begin their journey with a week-long Leadership Academy this summer, where they travel across Texas to learn about the state’s diverse water resources, water infrastructure, and water challenges.
To support students in our community, the Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District offers a 4-H Water Ambassador Scholarship for students who live in or attend school in Bastrop or Lee Counties and are accepted into the program.
The LPGCD scholarship provides several benefits, including:
- Annual Participation Fee Coverage ($300)
- Reimbursement for program-related participation expenses
- A $1,250 scholarship awarded each year a student remains in the program, up to $5,000 total, to support continuing education after high school
Students selected for the scholarship will also work closely with LPGCD by contributing four hours per month to District projects. Activities may include assisting with groundwater monitoring and well measurements, supporting education and outreach events, or helping develop educational materials related to water conservation and aquifer science.
