LPGCD Presents at Texas Groundwater Summit

The Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District (LPGCD), in partnership with LRE Water, presented at the 14th Annual Texas Groundwater Summit, the state’s premier event for groundwater professionals. This year, LPGCD was not only a proud sponsor of the Summit but also shared how science is shaping groundwater management in Bastrop and Lee Counties.
Our presentation highlighted key projects including the District’s 3D aquifer mapping initiative, efforts to expand and modernize the monitoring network, and new approaches to communicating groundwater drawdown in ways that are easier for the public to understand. We also shared updates on the development of a local groundwater availability model, supported by a federal grant, which will help guide future permitting and conservation decisions.
By investing in data-driven tools and research, LPGCD is building the foundation for informed decision-making and sustainable groundwater management that protects the water resources of Bastrop and Lee Counties for generations to come.
