4-H Water Ambassador Program Scholarship
Overview
The Lost Pines Groundwater Conservation District (LPGCD) offers a scholarship to students in Bastrop and Lee Counties who are accepted and active in the Texas 4-H Water Ambassador Program (4-H2O). The scholarship is intended to support and encourage the exploration of career paths in the water industry and to invest in the development of future leaders in the industry.

Scholarship Benefits
Annual Participation Fee Coverage - $300
LPGCD will pay the Ambassador’s annual participation fee directly to the 4-H2O Program for selected Ambassadors who remain in good standing.
Expense Reimbursement - $ Amount Varies
Ambassadors will be reimbursed monthly for participation fees and expenses incurred for spring and fall retreats, conferences, and other water-related meetings and trainings sponsored by 4-H2O. To qualify for reimbursement of qualified expenses, the Ambassador must provide a request for reimbursement, including receipts and proof of expenses, on forms provided by the District.
Annual Scholarship Accrual - $1,250
Ambassadors will accrue a $1,250 scholarship per school year (up to a total of $5,000) to be paid directly to the Ambassador after high school graduating for continuing education or higher education.
Reimbursements
To receive reimbursement for qualified expenses, the student must provide a request for reimbursement, including receipts and proof of expenses, on forms provided by the District.
Eligibility Requirements
Reside or attend school in Bastrop or Lee County
Be accepted into the 4-H2O Program OR remain in good standing by meeting all education and service requirements of 4-H2O.
Reapply each year to continue receiving the scholarship.
Scholarship Requirements
- Work with LPGCD for four (4) hours per month on assigned projects. Tasks may include assisting with groundwater monitoring and well measurements, supporting education and outreach events, or helping with the development of educational materials.
- Submit a monthly written report detailing 4-H2O activities and experiences.
- Present reports to the LPGCD Board in person or via Zoom twice per year.
- Provide proof of expenses for reimbursement, including receipts and completed District forms.

Submit your LPGCD scholarship application by May 12, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

- Download the application as a PDF and email completed form to Education & Outreach Coordinator, Claire Marks, at cmarks@lostpineswater.org. Please be sure to include an attachment of your acceptance letter from the Texas 4-H Water Ambassadors Program.
